You will need to complete and affix the relevant Object Specific Form that your project falls under. Please see the list below.

SEPA Objectives

Object A
The reclamation, remediation, restoration or other operation on land to facilitate economic, social or environmental use.

Object B
Community based recycling, re-use and waste prevention projects.

Object C
To provide, maintain or improve a public park or other public amenity. Must be in the vicinity of a landfill or transfer station.

Object D
The conservation or promotion of biological diversity through the provision, conservation, restoration or enhancement of a natural habitat or the maintenance or recovery of a species in its natural habitat. Must be in the vicinity of a landfill site or transfer station.

Object E
The maintenance, repair or restoration of a building, other structure or a site of archaeological interest which is a place of religious worship, or a site of historic or architectural or archaeological interest and is open to the public. Must be in the vicinity of a landfill or transfer station.

Object F
The provision of financial, administration and other similar services to projects that are enrolled with an Approved Body.

To qualify for funding your project must be located with approximately 10 miles of a landfill site or transfer station as approved by SEPA. This applies only to applications under SLCF Objects C, D and E. Pre Project Registration – Form 1

The Pre – project registration form should be completed to provide basic information.
This will help SWEAT assess if your project is eligible for funding.

How to Apply

In the first instance please submit a Pre-Application Form to SWEAT. This will allow us to decide if your project is eligible for SLCF funding. We will notify you to let you know the decision of the SWEAT Committee. If your application is successful you will be required to complete a Form 2 and an Object Specific Form. All Forms are available here.

You will also be required to provide documentation to clarify the information that you provide. These can vary depending on your application but you will definitely be asked to produce:

  • A copy of your Constitution.
  • A copy of the page of the Minutes where it was agreed to approach SWEAT for funding.
  • Two bona fide quotations.

Other documentation required may include:

  • Maps.
  • Plans.
  • Photographs.
  • Drawings.
  • Leases.
  • Other Agreements.
  • List of Office Bearers, addresses and occupations.
  • Recent Bank Statement.
  • Audited Accounts.
  • Proof of Charitable Status.
  • Environmental Policy.
  • Landowner Consent.
  • Building Warrant, Planning Permission, Listed Building Consent etc.
  • Detailed Breakdown of Costs.
  • Maintenance Plan.
  • Proof of Match Funding.
  • Cash Flow Plan.
  • Business Plan.
  • Evidence of Community Consultation and Support.

Applying to register a project – Form 2

All Projects approved by South West Environmental Action Trust (SWEAT (Dumfries)) will be funded through the Scottish Landfill Communities Fund (SLCF). The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) are the regulators of the SLCF. They are approved by Revenue Scotland under The Scottish Landfill Tax (Administration) Regulations 2015 (the Regulations).

Project Registration – Object A Supplementary Information
